Do you take the time to pamper yourself? If not, you are really missing out! It’s so, so important to take the time to spoil yourself a little bit! NO EXCUSES! Taking the time to pamper yourself (otherwise known as self care) doesn’t have to be expensive or time consuming. Keep on reading if you need to get some ideas! There is also a fun challenge at the end!

One of my favorite things to do when I feel like self care is necessary is a loooooong shower or bath (depends on my mood) with a nice cold drink. I usually try to do this after Vandy goes to bed and while Tayler is doing other things. I like to turn my music up loud and just take my mind off of everything. It’s so relaxing!
While I’m in the shower, I also like to use some of my favorite products to help me relax! I really love Ocean Salt from Lush Cosmetics as a scrub. I really don’t think you can go wrong with any of the Lush products.
Another fun option to pamper yourself is to do a hair or face mask. I really love the Joico Luster Lock Hair Mask! I’ve used it a few times now and I’m obsessed! Seriously makes such a difference in my hair as soon as I apply it! Add the Wet Brush to brush out your hair with ease!
If you’re looking for a great face mask, the Dr. Jart+ Shake and Shot Hydration Mask is so fun! You literally mix up your own mask in the cup, shake it up, and then apply it with the spatula that is included. It goes on like a thick liquid and dries down to a rubber mask. YES, I’M SERIOUS. It was so fun and felt like a science experiment! I usually don’t care for peel off masks but this didn’t hurt- at all! It was the perfect way to pamper myself!
I really like to play in my makeup to unwind and relax! You can check out my favorites, if you’re interested! I find this is a good excuse to do my full night time skincare routine, too! This is especially great if you are going to bed after you play around your favorite makeup products! This may be super weird lol!
Fresh air is always a great idea. You can go outside and play with pets, if you have any. Go for a walk. I have been completely loving taking Vandy for walks in her stroller or in her Tula carrier on nice days! Have lunch outside – do whatever works for you!
Watch one of your favorite movies! I really love The Little Rascals, Sandlot, Fever Pitch (did you know Jimmy Fallon is in this one?!), Chicago, A Walk to Remember, and Pitch Perfect! Netflix and Hulu are must haves in this household!
ARTS and CRAFTS. Even if you don’t paint or do any hardcore crafts… grab a coloring book! I really love to Bible Journal! Something really fun for me is watercolors. I really enjoy mixing the colors and seeing the different textures!
If you enjoy reading (or haven’t picked up a book in awhile), grab a book and relax! Even trashy magazines (a total secret love of mine) will help you to relax.
Some people that I know really love meditation and/or yoga. I haven’t tried this but I do plan to in the future! I’ve heard amazing things about apps that you can download on your phone if you don’t have the time to go somewhere to a yoga class!
Pedicures, manicures, massages, oh my! For real, though. These will all really help you to feel like yourself again and will make you leave feeling amazing! I have also found a new love for coffee ground body scrubs. It’s like a massage but not quite as intense. Instead of leaving sore, you leave with soft, moisturized skin! That’s a WIN for me!
Puzzles! Tayler and I haven’t finished (or started) a puzzle in a really long time but I want to change that! We really love just sitting down at a table together and working on a puzzle. It’s a great way to spend time together and talk about anything while you are feeling somewhat productive.
Read the Bible! I find so much wisdom and comfort from my bible studies. Fun fact… I do all of my bible studies on my phone. You can always make time.
Please remember that in order to be the best you, you need to take care of yourself. You can’t be your best if you are run down or just burnt out on life! YOU’VE GOT THIS.
