WHO DOESN’T LOVE A BONUS POST?!  Especially a bonus post that includes a makeup swap!!!

I recently participated in a super fun makeup swap with a ton of amazing women!  We were all mixed and matched by the lovely Mary from Pretty on a Dime.  I can’t thank Mary enough for organizing all of this fun for us!  We answered a quick but informative survey so that we could help out our mystery shopper.  I loved doing this because then I knew that I wouldn’t hate what I received!  We had a few guidelines that we followed and we got to shop for someone else while a mystery shopper was shopping for us!

I could not be happier with my sweet package!

My mystery shopper was Maritza Rodriguez from The Beauty Swatcher!  She seriously couldn’t have done a better job picking out these items for me!  Maritza is from the Miami area (so jealous), loves makeup, and a mom!  I can totally relate to being a blogger mom who loves makeup!  I think this is how she nailed picking out my products so well!

The first item that I noticed in the box was the Urban Decay x Kristen Leanne Beauty Beam Highlighter Palette!  MOMENT OF CONFESSION:  I had never heard of Kristen Leanne.  Don’t hate me!  I was so excited to check it out!  As far as I can tell, there aren’t shade names included, however, the middle shade (of 3) is stunnnnnnnning – it is a champagne shimmer shade!  I can not wait to put it to good use!  The other two are also beautiful and are more of true gold and copper shades!

I will say that I’m not positive that the packaging on the Kristen Leanne line is quite as nice as the usual Urban Decay products.  However, with that being said, the pigment seems amazing and there are tons of sweet details.  For example, the mirror is super nice and the corner has the ‘Stay Gold’ motto included.  I love the simple extra features on products!

Up next is the Urban Decay x Kristen Leanne Vice Lipstick!  I haven’t had a chance to check out the Vice lipsticks, yet… I’ve been on my Lipsense or bust kick!  This specific one that I received is in the shade Bun Bun and is listed as a comfort matte shade.  I instantly noticed the adorable pink lipstick bullet!  On Sephora’s website it is listed as a nude.  I would consider it more of a brown mauve, personally.  It will push me out of my comfort zone but I’m excited about it!

The formula on this lipstick is super creamy and rich.  The pigment is phenomenal and feels so good when I swatch it.  No pulling or tugging and just glides right on!  I was super impressed with the formula.  I may have to grab a few shades of the Vice lipsticks to put them to the test!

Next up was the Urban Decay x Kristen Leanne Daydream Eyeshadow Palette!  This palette includes 5 eyeshadows and a dual ended brush.    The inside of this palette has a gorgeous floral print – if you know me AT ALL you know that I’m obsessed with floral prints!  The mirror has the same ‘Stay Gold’ motto as the highlighter palette.

All five of the eyeshadow shades are matte (which I prefer) and I liked the pigmentation of each shade!  The five eyeshadow shades are:  Lucy (ivory with a slight pink tint), Daydream (soft camel/nude), 12/12 (deep peach more on the reddish side), Subscribe (warm camel), and Eight (rich plum).  The dual ended brush has one side that would be great to blend a smokey eye or to work on a blended cut crease.  The other side is perfection to apply the color to the lid because it is easy to really pack on the color!

The last item that I received in this makeup exchange was the Make Up For Ever Artist Color Shadow in the shade I544.  The packaging refers to the shadow as a ‘high impact eye shadow’.  On the Sephora website, this color is listed as Pink Granite.  I’m really confused on the name of this one because it’s truly a deep plum-copper shade.  HA!  Maybe they just like to keep us on our toes, if so – it worked!  I definitely don’t see any pink in this shade.  However, I loooove purple shades because I have green eyes and it always seems to make the green really stand out!

Overall, I think I will use every single one of these items and I’m super excited to try them out!

Thank you, thank you, thank you to Maritza!  Don’t forget to check out her blog (www.thebeautyswatcher.com) to learn more about her and to see what amazing work she puts out!
